Elisabetta Giordani, liutaio, Cremona has made mention of this subject on her website: which prompted further searches on my part.
I have gone deep into the past (old publications and manuscripts) with various biographical information concerning Guarneri del Gesu. Some dates concerning his birth always seem to conflict, except for a year date of death (1767) which I finally discovered but do not know if this is accurate.
Please, if you can, get me a copy, too. I will be happy to pay!

A copy of the book was gifted to me last week!claudio ha scritto:This book could be a very useful guide to understand the historical events around the violins. I hope to find it.
From first pages I've been reading, it seems to be very promising.
Mi è stata regalata una copia del libro. Dalle poche pagine che sono riuscito a leggere sinora, sembra essere promettente.

The "del Gesu" was in the 19th century brought to the state of Nebraska, USA, by a member of a family with the surname, Gumb (German descent).
